Members Meeting – Monday, June 8, 2015

MEETING REMINDER: BRING A FRIEND!
Can’t wait to see everyone’s projects for the Challenge! Find out more here

June Members’ Meeting
Date: Monday, June 8
Time: 6pm to 8pm
Location: Ventura Masonic Center, 482 E. Santa Clara St., Ventura (map)
Building Entry: Refer to your Meeting Reminder Email sent on Friday 6/5 for the front door access code.

  • BRING A FRIEND! Bring a buddy (or three) to check out the meeting and share in the fun! There’s no obligation for them to join, but if any choose to be new Members, the more the merrier! Remember to wear your name tag so all can feel welcome.
  • Challenge Show and Tell – Bring your completed NEON PROJECT! Create a quilt square or other project incorporating neon (fluorescent) patterned or solid fabric. See our Challenges page to see fun neon inspiration.
  • Round Robin Reveal! Participants have been hard at work since February, and this is the big reveal of the completed quilts! A Round Robin quilt is made by a group of quilters, each quilter passing on and adding to the work completed before. The quilter who made the center block then gets the quilt top back to keep and finish — and doesn’t get to see the top until it’s done!
  • Snacks: Thanks to Scott G, Robin S and Leslie C for bringing snacks last month. Annie O, Kathy P, and Sue N are up to bring snacks for our June meeting.
  • Philanthropy/Placemats Reminder – Last call for Members to bring completed placemats for donations to Meal on Wheel and other Senior Nutrition programs. We’ve collected more than 50 so far! And Terrie Soto and Linda Huddle from Schools on Wheels will be at the meeting to receive their quilts made by Guild Members!
  • Raffle: Don’t forget to bring extra bucks for our always-fabulous raffle. Thanks to last month’s donors Becky H and Cloth Pocket (don’t forget … use the code “MQGxoxo” at checkout online and get a 20% discount on your order!)
  • Opportunity Quilt: Keep selling those tickets and bring in your stubs/money — and pick up more tix from Scott. A big thank you to those who sold tickets at superbuzzy during the Quilt Shop Tour – almost $200 was raised!
